brochure layout, help!

hi all, im doing an A5 brochure and need to know:

when designing the pages in PS/illustrator, do i design with a double page layout in mind
eg: pge 1 & 2 together on a single layer

or do i design/layout each page seperate
eg: pge 1 single layer, pge 2 single layer

hope this makes sense,

thanks in advance.

All depends on your objective and the complexity of the layout. If possible - lay out each page separately, then you can export each as individual PDF's for your printer who isn't going to want to deal with a layered adobe doc.

or yes you can do your layouts in layers and then export each layer separately as PDF's later -- if you think you won't have problems with file size.

I would use indesign if you can. It will make your life so much easier. Also I would always think in terms of double page layouts with facing pages.
