Ecommerce

Can anyone offer some sites that have a nice and simple payment process? When I say simple, I mean sites that have the luxury of only trying to sell one or two things. I've got a client in this position who is looking into entire shop-based solutions, which seems like overkill to me and I wanted to provide some alternatives.

No, not silly at all. But can you intergrate Paypal into a site without being forwarded to a very ugly looking Paypal checkout? (ie. can you customise it beyond adding a header and a background colour?) I can't seem to find any info on it.

www.2checkout.com may be worth a look... never used it myself, but looked through their FAQs recently, and it seems pretty good...

Your best bet would be to go with an integrated payment provider such as Datacash, Protx, SECPay, etc. Then you could manually design and code your own checkout/payment screens that are seamless from the rest of the site (there's nothing I dislike more than having to leave a site to pay for something - smacks of amateurism).

mmm, I feel the opposite, I know my card details are safe if I am transferred to a reputable payment collector like Worldpay or Paypal. Little shop man, what does he know about safe data storage?

No, you think your details are safe(r). It's all a matter of perception.
