websitebuilding
I make and sell brochures, business cards, flyers etc. and I would like a website to help promote this. I want to put generic samples in different catagories on the site and have customers click on the samples and add their own text information. Can anyone tell me how this might be accomplished? Is there any programs available that will help me build a website that will do what I am looking to do? Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give to me. Regards, |

If you want a professional website then employing the services of a professional web designer would be your best bet. There's plenty on here that would help you (myself included) and you would get a top-notch site at a decent price that would be an assest to your business. or you could go with making one yourself, which unless your prepared to invest a lot of time in truely learning the technology, will most probably be un-professional. Sadly the same applies if you go with a £100 cut'n'paste cowboy whose portfolio contains barry's fish'n'chips or the like. There are a million website creation programs and websites, but even the professional ones like dreamweaver, will only aid your learning, not replace it. If you want to become a web designer then read the posts, buy the books, learn the skills and I wish you the best of luck. you just want a website then get someone professional to make it and avoid becoming yet another company with a laughable web presense. |

This might be a job for a big, potent Flash/XML app? Perhaps? Either that or a server-side programming solution - i.e. PHP - could do it. I guess it depends on the visual complexity. If you want a bunch of font choices and to basically build a layout and design web app, then you might need something more robust in terms of interface (i.e. Flash). Either way, I see this as being a complex task and if you're going to do it yourself, you've got a lot of learning ahead of you - we're talking you might be able to get it learned and launched in a year. Or hire a professional to do it. |
