They are sending mails and spoofing the 'from' address. (or at least this is what happened to me) Other than smashing them or their computer with a hammer I think their is little you can do unless you intend to block all mail to that domain. Are they porn spammers? |

You can close the catchall account and rely on named accounts only. Inconvenient, won't solve much. The real issue for me was being seen as a spammer. I was assured by my host that Spamcop and the like recognise the mail server the spam originates from and not the domain so I would not be blacklisted. |

You are getting spoofed, this can be very serious, it is a security issue with your host, it will happen on occassion, once to me and my host freaked out and put a stop to it. Don't let them say it will just go away. It will or maybe it won't and if they don't figure out how they are letting this spammer spoof you from their servers get a new host. |

Some people on my host's forums have been complaining about the same thing - that spammers are spoofing their from addresses to look like customers' email addresses. If that's the case, your host is powerless to stop it (unless it's coming from one of their servers, naturally). An email "from" address is really easy to spoof and there isn't much you can do to prevent it - except not let anyone know your email (never post it on the web - encrypted or not - use forms). |

They're a ISP and I'm sure they won't approve of their IP address being used to send spam. Go now and fuck up a spamcock. |

Everything is fine.

Not really gonna solve the problem, as it's been mentioned you can "spoof" the from address too easily, but I have resorted to turning my catch-all off and only using specific mailbox names, anything that ends up in catch-all gets blackholed by the server. That way I don't get the crap coming in to it, and spammers who check to see if mail is received on the server don't get a response as it appears to have disappeared. - Mike |
