I've got my h1 looking how i want it, how do i style a <h1> link?

So, i've got <a href="blah.htm"><h1>Blah</h1></a>

How do i style the hover in my style sheet? I tried

.h1 a:hover { ...

Along with <title>, <h1> is the most important HTML element on the page (for SEO). It should be used at all times.
