Adsense Conflict/Bug??
Hi, I'm new, so hey! This looked like a great forum to join. Anyway, I'm designing a template for a client and have run into a problem with google adsense. The URL where the problem is occuring is: http://triplelproductions.com/demos/leon Please read about the problem below- I had a working adsense 160x600 ad in the "Advertisments" bar in the middle column, and, like I said, it worked 100%. THAN, the client requested that I add an additional adsense banner under the header image - a 728x90 ad. So I added it in no problems . . . EXCEPT that the ad in the second column is now not working . . . I don't know why, or what to do about this. All that is showing is a gray box. I tried moving it to different areas of the page, and taking it completely out of the main container and it's all the same. But the minute I remove the top ad, it works again. Is this some conflict with this guy's ad code? When I tried to ad in an adsense code I had from one of my own personal sites, NOTHING shows up, not even the gray box. (I've tried changing the ad colors too, for the background etc, and it stays grey) Getting pretty frustrated over here, especially since I just had to work through the whole FireFox flicker fix problem when you put adsense in a float. Thanks for any help. Lindsey |

Hmmm. I have the same problem on several pages of my site. The code is the same on all the pages (since it's an include), but sometimes the sidebar ads don't show up while the content area ads do or vice versa or none show up or both show up. Who knows. I'm going to browse around the AdSense site and see what I can find. If anyone has the answer I'd be happy to hear it, too. |

Apparently this is a conflict between the 728x90 and the 160x600 adsense. I went and created three more adsense codes to test with that top ad that was giving me the orginal problem: First, to rule out any of my php/javascript code conflicting with the adsense I created a barebones HTML document and slapped in the two orginal codes. As you can see here (http://triplelproductions.com/demos/leon/adsense.html) the same problem happens, so I was relieve that it wasn't my code. That means no revisions, phew! So, I went back into my adsense panel and created three more adsenses. Two "text only" ads. One with 120x600 as the dimensions and the second at 300x250. The both worked! http://triplelproductions.com/demos/leon/adsense2.html http://triplelproductions.com/demos/leon/adsense3.html And the third that had all the same settings as the orginal 160x600, (text and images) and just changed the size to 120x600. And it worked: http://triplelproductions.com/demos/leon/adsense4.html So, this is somehow a google problem, and not us! So beware in the future I suppose that those two measurements will NOT work together. Lindsey http://triplelproductions.com |
