nothing too stressful just minor things
having some minor tweaking problems. Explanation below: Nearly all the nav links will be having drop-down menus (top nav and main nav) so I've tried not to make things fussy. But I'm not happy with the main nav bar... and cant think how to improve it. Ive tried it with tabs/background colours/grads and nothing seemed right - which is why its quite plain at the mo. Is it ok? Also not happy with the headers but again stuck for ideas - dont want to make things too complicated. Any suggestions? PS: Any comments on the overall design as usual also |

Looks good to me. My suggestions for the horizontal nav buttons: Maybe give the grey hover box (that is a hover state, right?) rounded corners at the bottom. That might fit the layout better. As far as the headers, I think they're fine. Maybe consider moving the text to the left a bit. Feels a little awkward having them indented so much. Or maybe add a bullet or something to spice them up a little? |

It's nice but the horizontal nav feels a bit lost and there's maybe just a bit too much red (pulling the viewers eye all over the page). I always feel that red is most effective when used in very limited quantities. I'd try a red background for the horizontal nav and change the headers to black text. I remember you did those flyers for this client. Those were cool. |

any better?
ok... done some changes based on the feedack: PGO: rounded boxes on nav and headers moved to left a it Jase: tried the red nav but was way too heavy, got rid of some of the red on the page tho' Emil: spaced things out some more around the nav and faded the borders by about 30% but is it any better? Or did I just waste my time? |

That's a good point actually. Alternatively you could maybe scale down the sidebar headers... or make them not red |

fair points all of them. I will play around a touch more to see what works best. The thing about the sidear drawing attention away from the main section is deliberate actually - the whole point of the site is to get people to 'search' and 'register' so it works on a subliminal level. Having said that I know what you mean - maybe its too much? I'll post what will hopefully be 'the one' later today - on to something else right now (fucking content writing) |
