table height in IE6 under windows xp

Hello

I'm having some trouble with a table based web design. Everything looks great on every broweser I checked except IE6 on Windows XP. As you probably know, this is quite frustrating!

Basically, I have a table with one row and two columns. In the first cell I have a 200 pixel square image, in the 2nd cell I have a more complex table, but a table which is less than 200 pixels tall.

The problem is that IE6 renders the table a few pixels taller than 200 pixels so the graphic in the first cell doesn't line up with the graphic in the 2nd cell, there is a few pixel gap at the bottom.

I've tried all sorts of layout tricks including:

1) putting the image inside a table (this is what the example shows)
2) making the image have 2 rows with the image doing a rowspan=2
3) using "style="table-layout:fixed;width=200;height=200;" and NOT using style=

I'm at a bit of a loss here, I'm not sure where to go next. Redesigning the layout will not work, the client does not want that.

The URL showing the problem can be seen at http://www.customline.com/sclwriter/bug.html

Thanks for any advice. I'm hoping I don't have to learn <div> based tables but maybe this is the time, any pointers on that would be appreciated. Thanks!
