Help with Pricing
I was wondering what a ballpark price for this website i am completing would be: -designed with standard css, html 4.01 transitional -hours spent is around 57 -did some flash work -installing something like cutenews so i can be updated (i'm not writing it though) -this would be my 3rd professional website And it's quality looking. I already have somewhat of an idea, but i'd like to hear some people's experienced opinions. Thanks. |

57 hours eh? Sounds like a big site then! For a job that big (based on the hours you've given), we'd be charging around £2800 + VAT. Luke Redpath .::. Software Engineer .::. Reevoo - Real Reviews From Real Customers

it's not even that big of a website. it's normal sized, 7 main pages. 3000 pounds = $6487 Canadain for me. That's a lot. My idea was around $700 cdn (323 pounds). I think when i get more experience, i'll be able to charge what you guys are. i'm looking foward to it. |

323/57 = £5.66 an hour. Totally f**king ridiculous. You need to charge bare minimum £25 an hour to make a decent living. Honestly, the prices people are prepared to work for astonishes me. You should check this link: http://www.tortorelladesign.com/calc/hr_rate_win.xls Then you will be able to charge with confidence, knowing that you haven't just plucked a figure out of thin air. Sorry to rant on but in the future you should provide a full quotation to the client of what services they are getting and how much they will be paying BEFORE you undertake any work. Good luck. |

Fair point but 16 hours seems a bit ambitious to me. I would schedule it something like this: Day one - layout. Day two - layout approval and amends. Days 3 and 4 to put the site and content together. Day 5 final approval/amends and search engine stuff (sorry to get technical) 35 hours @ £25 an hour = £875. Damn cheap for a pro website. Should probably add an admin charge to bring it nearer to 1K or start work on designing a 'homeless and hungry' board. |

You miss the point of our quotes - our quotes were based on the time you gave us. If the site isn't that big, then its probably only 1 or 2 days work...£400 to £800. Luke Redpath .::. Software Engineer .::. Reevoo - Real Reviews From Real Customers

1500-2200 pounds... around 2500-3500 canadian to me... Sounds about right... #1 thing is confidence, I have doubled the price on web sites, been super confident adn knowledgeable in teh presentation and got the project (with half up front), all for being confident and positive! |
