Does anyone know a good dicount store that will be selling the G5 power mac for cheap?
the best price I can find is £2,299

i dont think youll find much difference in price from the apple store anywhere, you might get some free ram or a phone or domain or something, but theres not loads of profit margin on macs.

why do you need the full on one, the 1.6ghz or 1.8ghz should be fine. unless your making toy story 4 or something.

The only possible reason not to is that it is a brand new machine, and hence prone to a few problems that will be ironed out in time. But that shouldn't put you off really.....

yeah i was gonna suggest you befriend a student or a teacher and get it that way - you won't save a hell of a lot but its better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick

Yeah, looks naff to me. Where do I put my cup of coffee or my note pad?

I have a massive table in the middle of the room (5.5 x 2.5m) which I have my laptop, sketch books etc on. There's often 4 people working round it which makes for a really productive work space.....

agreed, I like to have loads of desk space around me to spread all the crap out on. I hate desks where you havent got room to rest your arms etc.

Looks like some kind of space ship control pannel thingy,

She canna take the strain captin...

It sucks. Need a huge desk shelves and a wall before I'm even close to having all my stuff where I need it. Thank heaven for wheeled chairs, wooden floors and other peoples desks
