Adsl - Firewall

Thought we needed a new forum

I got my adsl installed last night but havent got a firewall yet - anyone know the best software firewall to use or shall I gor for a hardware one ?

forgot hardware such a pain to configure and a decent one with be 400+

zonealarm pro - will stop pretty much everything and it works fine with iis /apache so thats fine

i'm using zone alarm and the standard xp firewall. you can download the standard zonealarm for free but i think you have to pay a bit for the pro version.

yeah, got zone alarm in the end.

Was thinking hardware firewall cos at my last job we set one up which was basically an old pentium 133 I had laying about. Added 2 network cards to it and ran FREESCO on it, did the jobbie fine but I left the pc there when I left.

zone alarm pro is very easy to get through, imo i think ones such as sygate personal firewall pro and norton internet security are heaps more secure than zona alarm pro, ive used them all, and got through a few of them... havent been able to get through sygate or norton yet.... just my 2 cents
