Which I mac should I get, yo?

Right, I'm off to buy one of these after work, and what I want to know is – which one should I get?

Basically be designing for print on it, with some After Effects on occasion. So, practically, how big a difference would the more expensive one make?

Cheers

More RAM, More RAM, more RAM.

I've got 8GB - it's fookin marvellous.

For the sake of a couple of hundred quid I'd get the higher spec. Specially for image editing/AE etc...

suppose i'd go for the cheaper and max the ram - don't get the ram from apple. crucial or the likes what you need.

I recommend the cheaper one and sticking 4GB of RAM in it from Crucial.

They are both shit-hot machines, and I'm not sure how much you would be able to differenciate between the processors. However, RAM makes the world of difference.

I would go for the dearer one as it has the better card, this is something I doubt you will be able to upgrade yourself.

If you're designing for print, the screens aren't all that on the iMac.

Don't be mistaken in thinking they're the same as ACDs.

I've just gone from an ADC to an imac - side by side there's nothing in it in terms of screen accuracy (calibrated obviously), the only issue is the imac is far too fucking bright. So you need Shades.
