I have been saving a wee while and am thinking of buying my first Mac.

Who on here uses a MacBook? do you think they are worth using for design or should i wait a little longer to buy a MacBook Pro?

I don't want to buy a windows laptop knowing its going to come with the load of shite they call Vista on it.

What makes the MacBook pro better than the Mac Book?

macbook pro has a very good top of the range graphics card. Meaning you can play WoW

I've got a black macbook at home and a macbook pro at work.

If you're looking to do any serious design work, I'd get the pro. And an external monitor.

If you're going to work from home why not get a more powerfull iMac with a much bigger screen than the MacBook Pro?

Damn site cheaper too.

I have a macbook and everything works fine, although when I design a site that is 1,000px wide, I have to scroll to see it all. I would love to get a MBP, so I might have to scam the insurance company out of a macbook...sell these 2 and buy a MBP. :P

If you're that concerned about cost, the Macbook is no slug when it comes to speed, but as mentioned above, lacks video card prowess. If you do 3D animation, Macbook Pro is a must, if you're a Photoshop and CSS junkie, a Macbook should be fine.

Cheers for that, just what i wanted to hear! Im mostly working in Photoshop/Illustrator etc. so im guessing a macbook would be good enough.

I'd argue against a macbook being good enough for anything other than occasional Photoshop usage, especially if you're using it on the move with no external screen.

I got myself my first mac two weeks ago which is a macbook. It is actually the slowest spec but it will run ps fine and it is actually very fast. Im pleased with it and have no regrets spending the money.
