Well, Apple Cinema Displays are the best thing on the market but they're expensive than the others. Then comes the Samsung (what I have, 2x20' 206BW - I recommend this one as prize<=>quality), Dells, EIZOs etc.. Basically Samsungs are most common, because they offer good quality for the prize. |

I use 2 monitors. it's all about the resolution the monitors can go anyway ... I have an ASUS 17'' with a 1280x1024 resolution set and an old CRT 17'' monitor that can go only up to 1024x728 resolution. I use this one for testing in that resolution and for some old games. |

I am the proud owner of a 23" Apple Cinema Display. I had the Dell before this one, I don't know about the panel, but the render is very different. From what I see, Dell is wonderfull to watch movies or to impress a client, but Apple is by far the best display for design purpose. They're the same panel, the software/firmware will be altering the image... they can be tweaked to produce the exact same output (to the human eye anyways) if desired. Note. It's easier to alter all aspects of the displayed image on the Dell too. I use a Dell at home (cause I'm a cheap skate) and Apples in various studios (cause they look nice). |
