Seagate are good, some even come with warranties up to 5 years, but don't buy it from Dell. Looking quickly at the seagate site, as far as I can make out, this drive is the best one. Seagate Technology - Momentus 7200.3 SATA 3Gb/s 320-GB Hard Drive |

I went for WD Scorpio drives in my MacBooks, worked wonders. (Remember that a higher capacity drive will have slightly faster seek times than the standard rotational comparison, so the actual difference between a 200gb 7200 Travelstar and a 320gb 5400 Scorpio is marginal.) I'd also try to buy HD technology that is ~6 months out dated... best bang for your buck this way unless you really need the extra speed/space that current revisions offer. |
