new dell - massive quality drop!

RE: my last post regarding the new Dell 'Ultrasharps'

They aren't ultrasharp anymore.

The price difference is obviously because Dell have removed the S-IPS panels and replaced them with bulk standard shitty TN displays, complete with the toss viewing angles and bad colour representation to match. How Dell can get away with still selling them with 'truecolor', 'ultrasharp' technology is beyond me.

Mine is boxed up and going straight back. You have been warned. Best to hunt down older models now before they vanish.

Which ones? The widescreen displays? Mine is great (like 3 years old though). Best LCD I've ever owned (with the exception of my 40" Samsung LNT-4061F).

Yes the smaller widescreens. I've already got the 2007WFP and it's great, supposedly the same panels as Apple use?

The new models out this year are cheaper for a reason. I find it shocking that Dell can do away with their major selling point and hope no one will notice.

Cripes and I was thinking about buying 2 for a Dual Monitor Setup. Who else sells good quality screens, I'm thinking about getting 2x 20 inch ones.

Just look for anything with an S-IPS panel in it.
