Cheap as. Got a 1290 here that the 1400 has superseeded, love the quality, just a bit slow as it is an ink jet. Any suggestions for any Lasers that are recconned or discontinued, or just basically dirt cheap would be loverly. I am running 10.4.11 with CS 3. Just a quick noddy question. Do you need a rip to print from CS to a non postcript printer like an inkjet? |

I recently bought the following Photo Printer from Amazon and have been really happy with it. It's an all-in-one Scanner/Copier/Printer. I was a little dubious at first but it's turned out to be great. Amazon.co.uk: Canon PIXMA MP 210 Photo Printer: Electronics & Photo It's about £40 or so which isn't bad. Canon were doing a £20 cash back offer recently but this has just ended. I managed to get mine in time and the printer only cost me £14. Anyway, I thought I'd post it here because I've found it to be great. - Mike |

Colour? Minolta QMS do a good (compact) one, but not sure how much a pack of toner cartridges are. My Lexmark C522 is around 400 odd quid for the full CMYK. The one the guys use in the office is a Samsung CPL 300N. Cheap as chips and quality looks pretty decent. |

that konica minolta printer looks well nice. Shame the price tag is so big. i want one.... If your colours are starting to run, let them all run, run away from you. Flux - Bloc Party

So if I print from a pdf without a rip to an inkjet, would the colours be the same is if I printed from Quark with a RIP? Basically would there be any other negative aspects apart from the time it takes to make a pdf? |

I've got one of these: Amazon.co.uk: EPSON Stylus Photo RX560: Electronics & Photo Bought mine for only £99.99 mind. I think it's classed as old now, year old. Prints to the edges, great printer all round. |

I've got a Canon Pixma – it's been a pleasure to use for a relatively inexpensive bit of kit. |

I thoroughly recommend the Epson PX-5500 for mainly for high quality photo work. My company bought me one a few days ago. The non-Japanese name is the R2400. Very highly regarded, and almost a standard amongst serious photographers. Not a cheap printer though. Also has 8 ink cartridges (uses Epson's K3 ink technology) so it can be a bit pricey to maintain. I use a cheapo HP Deskjet for anything that doesn't require the Epson. |
