I am buying a mac and I need advise

OK guys I need help I am buying an apple IBOOK tomorrow it is the G4 version I think it is airport ready I have never owned a mac b4 and I need to know will airport recognise my home wireless windows network. I am using a netgear ADSL Wreless router. I can use the cat5 cable but I just want to check if the wireless coneection doesnt work can I just plug it into the network.

Any advise would be great b4 I splash out.

One more question is the ibook g4 is airport ready does that mean it has a wirless card built in or do I then have to buy a wirless card for it.

If the iBook is described as AirPort ready you will need to buy (or add to your configuration) an AirPort Extreme card which will cost £79.

Once you get one it will work seamlessly with your wireless network. Just set it up to join an existing network, it really is so simple.

I have an all-Mac AirPort Extreme network at home and it is amazing.

Good luck with the iBook purchase!!

Did you go for the one from Micro Anvika?

I was going to say that the iBook has been updated this week and the new base model features a 1GHz G4 processor and 512K L2 cache as opposed to 256K in the old model.....
