Once you've used Mac, you'll never go back! *cringe*

But in all seriousness, use whichever OS allows you the most productivity, if you like windows, then stick with it?!
(Personally I'd rather staple my balls to my inner thigh and begin a nice long workout.)

I'll quite happily use Windows if it's what's available at the time (I often have to when visiting other offices). The fact that Mac OS is a better operating system doesn't make Windows crap - XP is fine for most desktop applications. I do think there's a certain amount of truth in that 'never go back' slogan though. Most people do seem pretty happy once they invest enough time to actually get to grips with a Mac.

Well, I'm currently trying to save for MacBook Pro.

Been using Windows since I first got a computer, always found what I was looking for, always make my environment to work like I want it. Adapted to Windows so I can now make anything I want.

I am freak for good design, usability, simplicity, ... - and Macs are all that. For example: Coda, that piece of software is so great, when I saw the screenshots - wow...

It's your skill that matters and how you use it. Both systems have great software for producing various stuff, but some are better at one system, and some at the other one .

Thanks for the link Hunch, will be getting that on friday.

The only downside to Macs I have found, is that there is no support for PHP Designer, which is a tool I think is bloody brilliant.

However, I have found many apps that are freeware or open source that do the job perfectly, syntax highlighting and all that jazz. When I finally pay the mac off, I will be investing in Coda and getting a licence for Flash on Mac. Instead of having to dual boot with windows every time I want to use Flash.

i use php designer as well. although even with intelligent highlighting, i find the lack of code collapsing to be a real pain sometimes.

I thought I was windows all the way untill I saw my mum on saturday. She has the mac book air and it is the nicest piece of kit i have ever used!

The guys and work use macs and have frowned upon me for being a pc user and i have always stuck to my my guns. Now im not so sure.

If i had the money i would get a mac book air tomorow.

I am thinking of getting a mac mini, I have never owned a mac. The only problem is it is only 2ghz, is this enough? I would probably want more if I was going to buy a windows computer.

Use: Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver etc.

You can put 2gb in it, that would be enough wouldn't it? even with the big pictures.

The reason why I am looking at a mini is I have a laptop but need something faster, I will be moving very soon but need the computer now and a mini will be easy to move.

I bought a pc for cost reasons.

It is possible to run osx on a pc as I am doing. Best of both worlds.

No its very stable and an exact replica of what you see on a mac.

The trick is to buy hardware and components that are same spec that go in a mac.

It used to be really fiddly to get it installed. I've heard it's a lot easier to get set up now. Is it worth having a go? How much did everything cost you once you had bought all the specific hardware?

I've given Apple enough money to do this with a clear conscience.

I'm not saying it's not a crime or anything I'm just saying I would do it with a clear conscience.
