of course its just a rumour, but it will be either a macbook or pro at end of month, its simple pattern analysis.

i dont think you can say they care more about iPhone, it represents a fairly low portion of there income as a whole (and a tiny portion of the mobile market). The macbook air was a pretty good addition to the range, solves some portability issues (and is sexy as hell, held one yet?)

Where, in Romania? Fat chance I get my hands on it sooner than end of summer. Anyway that's just for pussies, I need a macbook pro, not a purse mirror. Sigh... Been too many next tuesdays for me to keep up.

haha

so do i, a great deal more. the macbook air is never going to help with video rendering, motion tracking, chroma keying, encoding, heavy photoshop use (although basic stuff it'd be fine for)

but when your tweaking code, prototyping a css template or just brining a project to a client for inspection, you rarely need that meat

and believe me, i have held one, you really wouldnt mind having it with you 100% of the time, it ways nothing!!

I weigh 113 kilos. A pound less isn't going to make me want a sissy overpriced 'puter.

(I'm actually very anxious to get my hands on the MBP, although I do hope 10.5.2 and a new mighty mouse come along too.)

I love that I picked up my MBP six months ago and the specs on it are still as good as you can get. I would expect them to update soon.

I was looking at Rock's laptops and bless their honesty, they even admit the battery life is 1 out of 5 stars (for the SL8 model at least).

If your graphics is not overly intense, you can go with a Sony laptop. I use a Sony for personal use which I purchased this past December. At the time, it was the top model they had (VGN-FZ290)

Specs:
Core 2 Duo 2.6GHz
4GB Memory (3rd party vendor)
7200kRPM Disk (3rd party vendor / Hitachi)
Nvidia 8400M GT with 256MB Dedicated / up to 1GB Shared
Blu-Ray Drive (amazing quality rest assured)

At the time it was $2,300 estimate for the total price. If you compare with Alienware which has advanced features currently, pricewise is still a major difference.

You'll need to do your homework and find your right balance.

The Sony is extremely slim for its specs, sleek and the battery lasts about 5-6 hours in general use (wifi, typical software as Office, video streaming, etc).
