Hey folks,

I'm hopefuly going on a trip to New York with uni and will be visiting the apple store if i get a chance.

Now due to there prices being cheaper than over here i will be very tempted to buy a macbook pro.

Will it work fine over here? Any problems that i might have with this?

Would it be ok taking it out of the country?

Warranty. You'll have to ship it back to the US if something goes wrong. I think.

No... you can take it to any apple store. It is fine!!! Got mine fro Hong Kong and i have taken it back to stores in England and Czech Republc and they are all fine!!!

Technically if you buy the procare thing too you can walk into any apple store anyplace in the world for tech support. (At least that's what they told me while my MBP was feeling under the weather and they got me to get procare to get my data back speedily.)

Personally though yeah dunno feels a bit of a risk, plus power adaptors for the plug right?

The power adapter plug can come off and you can swap it for a UK plug. I say "do it" and save yourself a few hundred quid. There's no problem at all.

The keyboard layout is slightly different and the power head needs changing (official one from Apple, or an adaptor), otherwise they're the same.

Apple offer worldwide support as standard.

Don't forget to ditch/post your packaging, or customs might nab/charge you.

Laptops are usually designed to be auto-switching voltage-wise because they whole point is that they're designed for travel. You shouldn't need anything more than one of those small plug adapters that looks like the kind of thing you plug a shaver into.
