PC Please
A friend has asked me to recommend a good PC but since I'm fairly knowledge-less on PCs I thought I'd ask you lot. Requirements are - TFT screen DVD writer Decent amount of RAM He basically wants to download movies off the Internet and burn them onto DVDs so whatever will help him do this. Budget is £800 and time is short. He's known for impulsive buys and is going to have a look around PC World etc tomorrow. I'm scared he's going to buy one of those white plastic HP things Cheers guys Andrew Parker

I'm going through something like this too at the moment. I want a faster machine. There's a great offer here for an HP thing (not white) for just €999 it includes: P4 3.2 gig processor, 1024MB DDR RAM, 160 GB HDD, Multi DVD burner, DVD reader, card reader, 256MB GeForce FX5700VE Graphic card and and and. I don't really want a DVD burner but to buy all these bits separately would cost more than this package so I'm looking at me bank card in a funny way... Stop it Sean, you don't need it |

I just bought one of these Shuttle doodahs, and it is very nice. http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/produ...price&offset=0 The Special Edition I bought is no longer on sale, but you can spec out a decent PC for 5-600 notes. The AMD ones are particularly decent. (Mine was a 2.4 Celeron with half gig of ram and a 19" Mitsi monitor for 750). |
