TFT colours

17" TFT LCD screen - very nice, but it sees greys as blues. Every other colour is perfect and randomly pressing the buttons didn't help.

Anyone know why?

you should have color settings so you can adjust blue , green and red , try adding a bit more blue to it. Took me ages to get mine right at home.

I think you mean less blue - that's what I've done already, but it's a bit of a bitch to get right.
And when the greys are almost right, the white is wrong.

sigh

Not my fault - must be a shoddy monitor.

The whole viewing-angle/colour-shift thang is one of the reasons I've never been gagging to buy a laptop.
Working on a laptop is a bit of a 'mare.

Colour depth, too. I'd take a flat-screen CRT over an LCD for graphics work any day.

Cost? 19" LCD and a 19" CRT are in very different ranges... That's the main reason I don't want to get one right now.

a 17" lcd is the same viewing area/res as a 19" crt - 17s arent too badly priced nowdays.
