Compare and contrast drawing tablet features - Given that Christmas (the holidays...) is so near, I am thinking about buying myself a drawing tablet. Having been to the WACOM site, I have checked out the options and am a bit... humbled... by the prices for such devices. I suppose my question for you all is the following: How much drawing tablet does an amateur-but-hoping-to-go-pro-one-day designer need for average work? I mean, do I really need one that is huge? How many inches should I be looking at if I really am feeling the thin-wallet syndrome of late but still want something I won't grow out of? Thanks to you all. And Happy Holidays. |

ive got a nisis graphics tablet, good low price, unfortunately, i managed to break mine within a day (the mouse was irritating me and i slammed it on the desk like i do with a normal roller mouse, forgetting that this one had a laser inside and the smash dislodged the thing!) then i stood on the pen by accident and that snapped, so now i have a taped up pen, the thing works well tho! |

oh, and as for being pro/amateur for a graphics tablet, thats not really important - graphics tablets, especially the pen, make using everything a lot quicker and easier (eg i have the largest tablet nisis make and ive set it up so the pen is relative to the screen, so theres no scrolling of the mouse, ijust point on the tablet where i want to go and the mouse is there) |

Would you mind telling me where I could pick one of them up? Pricewatch seems limited and I can probably get one cheaper from the manufacturer's site...? |

gray: Yours is an A4 and you are a lucky b... andy: You could go for a Wacom Graphire 3 (A5 version - don't go smaller). Not as "pro" as the Intouos series but reasonably priced in comparison. ...
