When you install OSX for the first time (or start up a new mac) there's a migration assistant which comes up on the first screen or so - it gives you the option of transfering files & applications etc from another mac (I think via firewire or ethernet).

It should be automatic I think.

Yep, just checked my Utilities folder (inside Applications) and there's a program called Migration Assistant which should walk you through it.

You can choose what it transfers, but I had problems doing it via ethernet, let me know if it works for you.

Whatever you do, don't transfer the system software as this can cause problems as your new mac will probably have newer software.

I'd try transferring all files and then upgrade the OS to the latest version (assuming you have the install discs).
If it doesn't work out you still have all the files in tact on the original system.

I migrated everything barr the system and it works fine.

Only thing is that Adobe CS2 is a bit slow from time to time but otherwise quite usable. When CS3 comes out I'll be the first to upgrade (and probably first to lose their artwork due to a bug!)...
