When you install OSX for the first time (or start up a new mac) there's a migration assistant which comes up on the first screen or so - it gives you the option of transfering files & applications etc from another mac (I think via firewire or ethernet). It should be automatic I think. Effervescing Elephant

I'd try transferring all files and then upgrade the OS to the latest version (assuming you have the install discs). If it doesn't work out you still have all the files in tact on the original system. Follow DT updates on Twitter: http://twitter.com/designerstalk

I migrated everything barr the system and it works fine. Only thing is that Adobe CS2 is a bit slow from time to time but otherwise quite usable. When CS3 comes out I'll be the first to upgrade (and probably first to lose their artwork due to a bug!)... |
