WAIT: B 4 getting ur macbooks and pro's

rumour has it that Intels 64-Bit Merom chip set is coming into the macbooks and MBP by the end of Sept. So if you considering buying give it a couple of months... as leopard will be 64-Bit and alot of software is changing over now... also cuts down power consumption and runs cooler..

i'm normally not a wait and see person, but this will be a major upgrade and should sort of some issues of the MBP.

I also read the same rumors. It might be a good thing to point out that these will probably come as a new CPU option rather than taking over the current options, which means more cost.

Yeah, wait for the aforementioned upgrade. Don't the Mac heads always say "Don't buy a first generation product."? Hopefully you can avoid all the explosive batteries and easily stained surfaces with a new generation.

i doubt that.... because the mountings will be different as this chip set runs less hot so they can give themselves more space... that would be the logical way of doin it!!!

Yeah you could be right. Good job I don't run a large hardware business, I would have just delayed launch.. that is clearly why I am not making the big bucks .

Surely the move to a 64bit architecture would essentially make them "first gen" products too? The whole "first gen" thing is bullshit. There is a possibility of defects and issues with *any* revision of a product.
