trying to blag a new monitor...
I'm currently using a very large CRT monitor but its been playing up recently, so I'm trying to blag a nice new screen. I've been looking at this Dell, but am unsure as to whether it'll be as good as the trusty CRT? http://accessories.euro.dell.com/sna...t1&sku= 59234 I awlays thought that CRT's give you the best quality, but wondered whether modern LCD's such as the Dell have caught up with it and are now a viable option for designers. Also, where can I get some decent health and safety laws/recommendations to back up the blag, at the moment the screen is so big that I have practically no desk space and my nose is almost touching the front of it. Its a very dark yellow colour too which distrubs me... Ta. |

You'd want to look at the Health and Safety executive site.. Your employer has a responsibilty to make sure your working environment is not going to turn you into a hunchback, give you Carpal Tunnel Syndrome etc. Either that or continue as you are, become a cripple and sue them for everything. |

A mate seems to think that you muct have an arms length between you and the monitor, but I cant seem to clarify this anywhere. Might need a new train of thought on this one... Are LCD's as good as CRTs nowadays in terms of quality? |
