just some thoughts... there are loads of G4 towers going cheap at the moment (especially if you buy secondhand on ebay) obviously you'll need to budget for a monitor if you've not got one tho. But you get a much more expandable machine, you could even set it up as a server or summut if you felt like it. I'd buy an lcd imac over an emac i think - purely cos the emacs are mighty beasts and take up a fair amount of room. imacs are much less intrusive. Another idea would be look on the apple refurb page (wednesdays from 10am, bargains to be had, roll up, roll up) you might get an imac cheap (or an emac if you want to go that route) |

cheers t. i kinda need to get one this afternoon, but am tempted to wait till next wednesday - my bro was telling me about that this morning (he's well into his mac porn). i don't like the imacs. they look great in photos but in the flesh/plastic, look a little too 'toy story' for my liking. monitor with a g4 tower - its gonna take up soooo much room which is whay i though emac. can i upgrade the memory in one? keep 'em coming... |

in an emac - yeah up to 1Gig i think. G4 tower with a tft maybe? wont take up much room...? Might be worth taking a trip (or phoning) John Lewis oxford st. branch - sometimes have some tasty discounts there. or try here for a refurb http://www.cancomuk.com Last edited by tomson : 18-09-2003 at 08:54. |
