Scanner

Which scanner would you recommend?

Right, I've been promised a new scanner at work, so I thought I'd ask you guys which particular brand/model would recommend for the usual jobs? I have at home a Canon, that seems pretty much ok in terms of resolution and scanning options but when I bought it (two years ago), I didn't look too much at other models.

So what should I get?

Thanks,
Emil

Canon would be good, I bet. I think most scanner companies would be about equal. I'd say your best bet would be a decent brand that specializes in imaging equipment - Canon, for one. Epson would probably be good, too.

I prefer HP for printers, maybe I'll stick to Canon for the scanners. That is in case they don't change their mind.
Cheers, Finbarr.

I have one of those "all-in-one" things. Epson CX6000 or something. I'm not that impressed by it. It doesn't print quite as nicely as I had hoped. Scanner works nicely, though.

Yeh, but usually these things have a lower resolution than a stand alone scanner. Or am I wrong? (I mean in the same price range)
Plus at home my printer and scanner occupy a lot less space than a multifunctional would have, and that's because my scanner sits on it side when not in use.

Oh, well we'll see. Thanks for the help, guys.

Yep, it looks cool and fits the budget. (Now I'm sorry I paid the same money on mine, two years ago )

Thanks, buzz.

top_buzz that scanner looks quality. I am also on the lookout for a scanner, and was very impressed and was going to buy, but it's not compatable with mac
