Stamp collectors' thread

I'm very impressed with these new Finnish stamps. There are five peel-off self-adhesive stamps on this sheet. Parts of the design are over-printed with glossy varnish, like the red shoes. It's good to be able to put some top-class design work on your letters!

I bought the stamp collecting magazine (one of those MANY magazine things that start but never finish). You know, the ones that cost £1.50 to start then go upto like £13

I hated it.

I have a suitcase full for first editions somewhere. Never looked at it to be honest. There's a Lady Di booklet in there.. I know that much.

I will give it to my son when he's older.. he can cash it all in for £13.54

YAY !!! I collect stamps, I have expensive tastes with most things, at moment my main interest is in the pre Queen Elizabeth II Empire / CommonWealth and King George V GB.

Main reason is love for the superb engravings on commemorative stamps, fantastic works of art.

I don't collect stamps but I like to put decent-looking stamps on my mail. The last sheet of 1st class stamps I bought showed raspberries or something on a pink background but the glue still tasted quite normal.

I have a bunch of stamps from all over the world and decades. I think the earliest is from the 50s but I'm not too sure. Someone was giving it away and I picked it up (yay for FreeCycle).
