Totally. The chemicals and processing used in the original films was damn clever. A digital instant camera is still a good idea mind you - just a shame about the design.

the expense is the main bugbear i have.

whole point of a poloraoid camera is its fairly inexpensive.

Speaking of which, just got this SX - 70 straight outta 1972.

wanna test it, anyone know where i can get some film without costing a leg? the modern 600 doesn't work. It has to be SX - 70 film .

Fuck that. Could pick up an old supercolour for £20 notes on Ebay and £250 worth of 600 on polanoid. Sorted.

the 600 film works if you stop down the meter, and cut the little nubs off the cartridge with a scalpel. Better to buy a filter if you can find one - meters are iffy.
