This is the place for the all time greats. A thread reserved for legends of design please.

Plenty of other threads for posting up cool stuff. Anything debatable will most likely be moved here. Consensus is moderated. No offense implied - debate the merits of your greatest designer in that thread please.

Herbert Bayer

Although he had a long career spanning different institutions and media, his most famous legacy is surely of being (mainly) responsible for the hugely influential Bauhaus style of graphic design, typography and advertising.

The image below is one of my favourite pieces of graphic design ever, Bayer did this poster for Wassily Kandinsky's 60th birthday. Compositional master-class.
