Newspapers

I personally think the Wall Street Journal is the best designed paper right now (except maybe for the NYT).

How are the paper designs in the Britain?

It's actually horrible and the tall broadsheet format used by some US papers is also impractical. Two words for the WSJ - white space.

In Scandinavia, newspaper publishers participate annually in the five nation "Best Front Page" competition. Finland's Helsingin Sanomat wins regular awards. Today's front page can be seen here HS Digilehti

I had a feeling there would be disagreements with this one. Thanks for the link.

Although I didn't initially like it, I've warmed to The Guardian's new design (2005 was it launched?).

Me too, today's is not a great example but The Independent is often nicely put together.

You might want to have a look at a copy of The Sunday Sport...

I have to agree with steveb that Helsingin Sanomat is one of the best designed papers around. It's a good thing seeing how I read it every morning.

Too formal, give me a red-topped tabloid with a topless model on page 3 any day.
