Have you thought about having the light blue in a gloss finish in the final thing. Would look much better than just leaving it looking flat.....more pricey though..... Andrew Parker

I'd go with the Pragmata on the light blue but instead of having a gloss coat added tot he whole front, I'd opt for just having the GDS glossed instead on a nice "sheen" or "Pantone" flat colour. |

As it's single colour, especially if he goes with a Pantone and not CMYK,, it wouldn't be that much more expensive for a gloss on top. |

Matt schmatt. Silk. I prefer the light blue (though I'd need to see how well you translate that to non-RGB colur gamut). It looks quite vibrant so may require hexachrome which will add to the bill. You might get away with 50% cyan and do it as two-colour process front and one-colour process reverse (depending on their output lpi) I haven't tried the cyan, but it's worth checking out. Budget-permitting, I'd also go with the idea of having a gloss varnish run over the GDS on the reverse side (blue solid). Fwiw, I'd also be inclined to stick the contact details on the white side, so the blue side can be kept as the eye-attracting initial side, whilst the white side contains the complete contact blurb. Fontwise, I'd say Sys, simply because, imho, it has more character and is not 'clenched' like Pragmata is. --- I'd also be inclined to have some mention of your field on the card so that it makes sense beyond the context of being handed one by a guy calling himself a designer. Just a thought. |

Yes! The gloss idea is a winner! It also makes the card look more expensive, which it is, but that reflects well on your business..... Andrew Parker
