Does it not necessary to all web designers know the graphic design?
In Web design always balance good design with speed, efficiency and effectiveness for the web. It is process of creating website with the help of html, css. Its all about advertising your product on the web. Graphic design creates print ads. Now all compnies wants both design for their webpages. Graphics deigner use combination of letters, visual effects and page layout techniques to represent their design. Graphic design use for creating logos and publications like magazines, news paper etc. |

Sadly Lilian has now had to leave us, having been enrolled for an emergency English Grammar Course at the Dick Cheney Remediation Center for the Clinically Insane. I've been to France twice on a hovercraft, so your argument is invalid.

To Actually answer the OP. Web Design is different to Graphic Design in so many ways and the longer web goes on the more that gap will grow. There are so many different things you have to think about when doing web vs Print. I’m sure that some of the processes are the same but once you get to the point of actually moving from Print to Digital your mind has to do a complete shift from paper to a interactive design interface. (Some print designers struggle here) With Responsive/Adaptive design now coming in as well it gets more problematic. I would rather hire a pure web designer for digital and a graphics designer for print. They will know what the best practices are for their specific field and you want amazing web and print designs not something that is a mix between the 2. Iz ams a Spam Bot

I think his native language is something other than English so I am prepared to forgive that misspelling. I feel a bit bad about dumping Lilian especially since I was fairly insulting in the ban message but it's too late now. But we have enough posts written in Crap expressing crap anyway. Let us reread those while remembering Lilian. I've been to France twice on a hovercraft, so your argument is invalid.

As a print designer, I've had to recently go to school for web design and I've had a helluva time with it. It's hard and different and I must admit that I'm not very good at it. As you guys have said, it's a paradigm shift in thinking. I'm used to pica perfect designs where clean lines are everything and it's hard to replicate that on the web. I'm pouring my heart out here because I've been out of a job for a long time due to everything going to web and I'm just not good at it. I feel like my future career is in jeopardy because of how the print jobs have gone to crap. |
