I'm bringing this post back from the dead... I've applied to a couple of institutions and I have offers from them but now I can't decide which one to accept! I'm really going out of my mind trying to decide where to go... Here's a list of places+courses I have been offered: 1. London College of Communication - Foundation Degree in Design for Graphic Communication 2. University College for the Creative Arts (Surrey Institute of Art & Design) - BA(Hons) Graphic Design: New Media 3. University College Falmouth - BA(Hons) Graphic Design 4. Didn't apply to Glasgow School of Art, but visited their booth at Education UK Exhibition and they were very interested to follow up and offer me a place.. Right now, I have an Advanced Diploma in Multimedia Design, but I wish to go for Graphic Design as I want to improve my visual communication skills. My plan for the future is to be a new media designer, hopefully a motion graphics designer. But I really think I need that firm grounding in design which I feel I kind of lack at the moment. Everytime I think I've decided, within half an hour, I feel unsure all over again... I wish I could go over to the respective places to check them out, but I don't live in the UK, so it's inconvenient for me to come over. At this moment, my first choice is University College for the Creative Arts, BA(Hons) Graphic Design: New Media. But I might change my mind again in a while... Can anyone comment on whether this institution is good when compared to the rest? I've heard good things about Falmouth and LCC. |

Yeah, it's not a BA.. The admissions officer I met, didn't think I was ready to go into the BA programme because I haven't really decided which pathway is the best for me. The pathways are Typo/Graphic Design, Illustration, Information Design and Design for Advertising. So he suggested the Foundation Degree instead, which has the possibility of bridging to the final year of the BA at the end of the course. What about University College for the Creative Arts(Surrey Institute of Art & Design)? Does anyone know if it's a good place to go to? |
