Not sure how to achieve looks like this and I'm not sure if I have the correct programs for it. I have GIMP 2. Been trying to figure out how to pull my horse from a picture and put it on another background. Can anyone help me with learning this?

This one is one that someone else did for me of my paint mare.

I would but this picture was done 7 yrs ago and I lost that person(they left the site) after that. How do you do this with paths? Looked at the link and all it was were comments..
