hi all

yes, i am trying to crowdsource some graphic design but not because I am cheap but because i think you guys have a lot of talent, it may throw up some interesting ideas and the prize is half decent - also i've not found someone right for the job yet. hopefully you won't be offended by this approach.

I am offering an iPod Nano as the prize for the best one, if i use it or not (if you don't want an ipod then choose something of equivalent value)

the brief: i am starting a clothing line called 'chalk' or 'chalk apparel' ::::designed for the enthusiast:::: - i am kicking off with a limited run of screenprinted teeshirts, if i don't lose all my money i hope to expand to polos, sweats, shirts etc

it's called 'Chalk' because i live in Brighton on the south coast of the UK and the whole place is built on chalk, with white cliffs just up the road and the south downs, again made of chalk. it's all around me. also chalk fits in with my desire for the clothes to have a great 'tailored' fit - i.e tailor's chalk. If tailors made tees they would look like mine.

i want the brand to be very english/british without being nationalistic - i suppose the brands i would aspire to would be 'duffer of st george' and 'fred perry' mixed with the US prepiness of 'modern amusement' - i am aiming at men of about 25-40. NOT the usual skater kid/hip hop tee market - older and more mature.

what i want :I'd quite like an animal or character DOES NOT HAVE TO BE AN ANIMAL to use alongside the type (that's a different project!) - I used to work for Ninja Tune records and they have an incredibly strong character logo and it worked wonders for them http://www.upbustleandout.co.uk/ubo/...logo_ninja.gif

i'd like it to be a 2d silhouette type (like my attached examples) that is very classic - like it could have been done anytime in the last 40 years - for example i am very into classic logotypes not modern gradiated, 3d crap. i.e this http://www.easylivingsystems.com/ups_logo.gif NOT this http://www.europeanperformanceproduc...s/ups-logo.jpg
