Hi all, I have been searching the web for inspiration and discovered this wonderful community.

I have this image banner that is awful. I just don't think it looks modern and don't particularly like the rounded corners on the image. See attachment

I wondered if anyone with a fresh pair of eyes had any other suggestions?

Things I would do;

Lose all the inner shadows.
Lose the rounded corners and have straight edges, except maybe for the right hand side and blend it into the brown
Align the image within the banner; to middle height.
Emphasise the 'Nyton Hotel' using bigger type.
Alter the type, maybe the alignment.

You need to change the font, its like me using this horrible font i cant even bring myself to say the name!

Yes change the font, I think the font kills the image it looks too simple and the font color too

Is that the colour for the brand? Perhaps a heading? ROOM WITH A VIEW
Change the image... say of the view it looks out to?
Brighten the image if you have to use that one.
and chose lighter border colours if you can to contrast and compliment the room image.

Change the font. Cleaner is better.

And photoshop out that box of tissues!

For me, the way you've cropped the image gives it a 'cramped' feel which doesn't sit well with the way hotels like to portray their rooms.
