Does anyone know of a good cork background (preferably free) that I could use? Most of the ones that I have found are darker around an area of the image, so it looks like tiles if I repeat it using CSS.

most of these are really good, except they're huge!

I'm looking for something smaller that I could repeat, without having the edges being shown or being too obvious.

Just do a bit of tweaking to the image in your favorite image editing program. It's going to be tough to find exactly what you need without doing any manipulating.
