Hey guys I'm unfortunately in a job where I cant really learn anything from a superior as my superior has no background in design and he's a tool. So the basic stuff that people dont get taught in university in this case colour charts, pantones blah blah blah have never been bestowed on me. Basically in the office I have a colour chart sent to me by our printers which contain cmyk values for the required colour (yes thats right it contains a 'u' and fuck u if you think otherways). When i type in the cmyk values the colour looks a completely different shade than whats on the chart (goes from dark maroon to a vibrant magenta kind of colour). So is this normal ? I understand there will be some colour change from the screen but this much? If someone knows of a site which can give me help in this that would be cool. Especially on how to prep my own coulurs and pantones. Thanks A Lot guys |

The screen can have a reasonably large effect – is the monitor calibrated properly? Matching colour can be challenging, and at times seemingly imposssible, at the last place I worked we had a £20,000 digital Cromalin machine to double check colours on our most high profile jobs, still we sometimes had mixed results with the final printed media, despite liaising with the printers. |
