Pantones - CMYK - RGB switching colour models
I need to change the colour profile of a logo to Pantone from CMYK. I would prefer to do it in Illustrator but was recommended Photoshop, either way I am unsure how to do it without re-designing the logo in Photoshop from scratch in Pantone colours. Any advice? Thanks. |

Open it up in illy, look what the number of the colour is and open a colour book (from flyout menu on bottom of swatches panel) called "spot to process" (pantone inks to 4 CMYK inks), look for the number, apply the colour and off you go. |

Fuck, I got it the other way around. Get hold of the pantone charts and match the colour from a nice printed example. You will not get ideal match, its just that there are less pantone inks then there are combinations of four CMYK inks. And then change the colour to the one you figured out in illy, Photoshop is deffo not the PROPER tool for this. |

As it happens, I found out the answer to my own question... Illustrator: If you have a vector logo, you can change to Pantone colours by simply going to windows > swatches. Pick a Pantone swatch library and colour pick as you would normally. |
