I am looking to buy a graphic design book for myself that discusses intermediate graphic design.

Are any of these good?

Is Grid Systems in Graphic Design in German?

I have Thinking with type, havent got around to buy the DIY.

I was about to order 'Stop stealing sheep...' from amazon. then i read the customer reviews on the book which weren't all that good. should i trust these reviews and order some other book instead?

It's good. The reviews on Amazon should be taken with plenty salt.

How to be a designer without losing your soul is a must-have for the practical stuff.

Stop stealing sheep is good but very basic.

This is far more comprehensive, read it cover to cover and you will learn an awful lot:
