Is there an easy way to simplify the number of colours in a sample is Photoshop CS3? It would be similar to reduced the bits in a gif. For example, turning a photograph that has millions of colours into one with six or seven different colours. Obviously you loss a whole load of quality, but I plan to use it to turn photographs into more cartoon-like figures. I think you can do it with contrast etc. but is there any automated way? |

what about doing a save for web and devices...go to one of the gif settings in the preset box at the right, under colors you can change from 2 to 256 colors... if you need to take that further - I would open the result in illustrator and do a "live paint" filter on it to make it a vector graphic. does that help? |
