Batch Watermark Images
Can anyone recommend any software which is simple to use for batch watermarking images? I'm looking to add a watermark in a region of the image and apply it to the whole batch. Only after some simple, if possible freeware or something similar. Just need it to batch process a few sets of images. I've tried some of the software out there to do this sort of job and they either just don't seem to work or I'm confused as hell as to how to use them. Does Paint Shop Pro have this feature? I can use that fairly well, but not too good with Photoshop unfortunately. Thanks, replies are appreciated. |

do you have photoshop? if you do then it is the way to go, and it can be done with a simple layer setup with a nice transparency and the batch setting. if you need a free software check out Free Software Downloads and Software Reviews - Download.com and type in watermark, there are tons of programs which you can tryout, some of which are free. |

Hey, yeah I do have photoshop but really not experienced with layers or anything technical like that. As for the software website, tried that sorta thing before and I just keep getting crap that doesn't work or doesn't make it easy. |

I'm sure a photoshop action/plugin would be a good way to go instead of getting a whole new program for it. I bet a quick search could find you one to download from somewhere if you're not experienced enough to make one yourself. |

If you have Photoshop, this is very easy to do. 1. Go to File/Scripts/Image Processor 2. This window opens: ![]() 3. Browse for the Folder which contains the images you want to watermark. 3. Browse for the Folder which will receive the new watermarked images. 4. At the bottom, enter the text you want to appear on the images. 5. You may also include an Action to be performed on the images at the same time - I use a light sharpening effect. Hit RUN and you're done. EDIT - no you're not! Sorry. I just tested thi to make sure. The Copyright text is NOT added to the image, but to the EXIF data. If you want the image to contain a copyright text, you first need to create an Action to do just that. 1. Open any image. 2. Go to Window/Actions. 3. Click on the Folder icon at the bottom of the Actions window and give it the name Copyright. 4. Click on the New icon to its right to name the Action, say "Copyright 2007". 5. Click on the round Record icon to start recording the action. 6. Select the text tool and type on the image "Copyright Beatsuite.com 2007" in a suitable position. 7. Click the square Stop icon to terminate the action. 8. Close the image without saving it. Now you have an Action which adds a Copyright text to your images, so select it instead of e.g. Sharpening when you run the script. This works! Sorry to get the instructions ass backward. EDIT2 This free program will also print text on images as it creates a web gallery. You can ditch the gallery and keep the folder with the watermarked pix. Web Picture Creator-free web photo album software I've used this program quite often when I want to share photos with friends less publicly than on Flickr. My free fonts www.utfi.net
