anyone need a logo? i'm your man.

hi hi

just need something to practise my art on. keep the old brain ticking over.

Actually

I have been practising with existing logos, ie my local cafe, and a sports clothes manufacturer.

doing my own variations to keep my eye in.

I was going to send them in to the companies in question. Firstly to let them know that I have been, that Im not using them for my own gain. secondly because they may look at them and think ooh theyre good perhaps we can hire him?

what do you think? be honest but also serious.

thanky

Try entering a few competitions.
There's always something going on at logosauce.com

I'd not send logos to companies for free without any talking:

1) They might love and adore their current branding and be very offended.
2) Their current branding may be shite but their nephew/cousin/dog made it, and could be very offended.
3) They might use it and never talk to you and good luck getting any recognition for it.

Nothing wrong with doing logos just for your book and showing your abilities to these people, but I wouldn't recommend doing a new logo for anyone specific and expecting them to hire you to do the work, if they're small they'll see the work as having been done for nothing, so why should they pay fairly.

So are you really our man? It sounds like you're still refining your skills. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

If you feel like refining the comp for OHP I posted in the logo and brand identity forum, we'd be very interested to see what you come up with. The brief is also posted there (it's the post titled "art direction").

Thanks!
