Keep in touch though through this feed or via message on profile and I will let you know when the work is being produced. Are you Dyslexic? With your brother having dyslexia are any other members of your family recognized as being dyslexic?

i can see where the theory could be going. in the same way that blind people can hear really well, there's thinking that dyslexic people think more visually.

my art and design course at college was almost 90% dyslexic.

i am not though, and i was the only graphic designer that year.

Just some information about terminology. This is from my dissertation

In this written work I have chosen to use certain words opposed to others because I feel, as a representative of dyslexic people, that these words I have used are not derogatory.

I have chosen to use the word ‘signs’ as opposed to ‘symptoms’. This is because symptoms are directly connected to a disease and dyslexia is not a disease, it is a learning disability. Symptoms can be cured, dyslexia can not be cured.

Dyslexia is not a ‘disease’ it is a ‘learning disability

Dyslexics are ‘recognised’ as having dyslexia not ‘diagnosed’. The definition of ‘diagnose’ is:

‘The identification of a disease by means of its symptoms’

People that harp on about "Dyslexia" fucking piss me off. Fair enough it could be true, or it could be a load of bollocks spouted by a load of lazy bastards that can't be arsed to do any fucking work. Sorry I have strong skepticism about it, but the topic of whether someone is dyslexic or not usually boils down to what they get out of it.

For example, my sister in law is doing her GCSE exams at the moment. She goes to an all girls grammar school, which is very difficult to get into, and has very few pupils because of such a high 11 plus pass mark. It also has internal examinations, and classes are tought by ability levels.

A girl in her class decided a week before the exams were due to start that she was dyslexic, and therefore deserved an hour of extra time for any exam she wanted, because the teachers couldn't prove her wrong.

We had kids in our school that clearly abused the system too, perfectly able enough to get into a grammar school, and go through the years just fine, but as soon as exams time comes around everyone claims they are have learning difficulties.

I feel if this learning disability is to earn any credibility back, they need to focus less on labeling sufferers, and do more towards helping them cope and work at the same level as their peers. No one catches up by doing less work.

And to the comment about 90% of your art class being sufferers, that is a bit fucking high. I'd put my life savings on most of them being lazy attention whores.

Are you saying its possibly made up? I can tell you now you are speaking bollocks. Try actually finding out about something before making stupid statements like that.

Firstly I was not the person that said 90% of my art class had dyslexia. Also if you knew anything about dyslexics our brains have to work faster than none dyslexics to process writen information. Dyslexia does not effect intellergence. It is belived that Leonardo da Vinci and Albert Einstain both were dyslexic.

About the girl that got extra time if she really did blag it it must have been with an internal exam and not a recognised exam board as they need proof that you are dyslexic. Their are a series of test which you have to take that proof that you are dyslexic or not. It also tells you what form of dyslexia you have.

Dyslexia is very real and to say it's not you are just a closeminded uneducated fool.
