What printing/packaging services do you use?

Just wondering,

What service or printer do you use to get your business cards, stickers, brochures, folders etc printed.

I have been google-ing printing services for a while and I have found crap. So I figure here would be the next best place (probably better) to find the answer.

ah... the internet super highway, the start and finish of all dumb ass people nowadays. Printers tend not to have great websites or have any google/internet presence what so ever, they are more of a local thing, and if you hadn't noticed paper and card weighs alot and if you truely do want things printed properly you have to have alot done. This cost alot to ship so big printers tend not to ship oversea's. AS I SAID BEFORE... yellow pages is where they live and alot don't even live in that cause they don't have to... don't be so naive and pick up a copy!!!! You may find out it is great advice... or go to Yell.com if your still interested in getting it shipped.

Yeah, our printer at work has terrible design (well, they just sent out a mailer that looked alright). But their logo has a rainbow gradient in it. No shit.

But they produce great work with quick turnarounds.

Somewhere like RCS in the UK can print pretty small quantities of stuff like businesscards. No fancy stock - choice of gloss, matt or uncoated - but it's highquality litho print at least. A box of 500 business cards isn't going to cost too much to ship to the US, but then there's bound ot be US-based litho services similar to them anyway, so why bother?

Thing to do is make a short-list of regional/national litho presses who specialise in batch printing 4-colour print then call round them all and ask for samples. For custom work, you need to make a short-list of litho presses (preferably local) and get quotes, samples, talk to them to make sure they aren't a bunch of muppets - put effort into building a relationship, basically, but if it's for big custom jobs that effort will be worth it.
