your logo, how much for your logo?
Know it's a banal question, but I was wondering what peeps would consider a ball park for a logo design. Some clients have asked for it and minor branding as part of a web design and I was wondering what general figures I should pitch, like if it was a small business / sole trader / large firm what have y'all charged in the past?? cheers |

I tend to charge a set price no matter what the size of the company, as it's always the same ammount of work. Its the additional elements such as brand guidlines and various executions that always bump the price up for the bigger companies whats facebook?

£150 - 1 type EPS basic £200 - 3 types (basic, black and white and 2/3 colour options) £500 - Range of treatments and basic branding guide (5ish pages) £1000 - Brand build including Letter head, comp slip and business card, branding guide and range of logos for all situations (web, eps, white, knockout, b&white, adapted for mini, with/without kites etc, download area) This is what I charge for freelance - at least double it depending on if its a big client or it's agency/inhouse work |

disagree with that, the value of a design has to be taken into account - a logo for a larger company is worth more |

If were going on whats a logo worth in value, surely an identity done on the cheap for a charity (as it could generate money that saves lives and shit) is worth a load more than an identity for a decent sized IT company. whats facebook?

pedant, yes a logo done for charity has a worth other than monetary - but I was talking about value in ROI terms |

I agree 100%. More research and creative input goes into a logo of a larger company. You cannot use any color or font you want without considering the brand and core company values. Every design aspect should be justified....eg why you chose this certain color. I'm dead sure that the strong brands of today, eg. Nike, Lots of reasearch went into that logo. anyway....only my 2c |

I would say company size, market and time. But thats a matter of discussion between you and the client I guess!? I cant agree on what Cantona said though .. it's not always a matter of same amount of time or resources, that can vary alot in my opinion. |
