Illustrator Text Problem
How to free transform text in Illustrator? I've fekked around with it all morning! Basically I want to manually edit the nodes of a group of text objects (text converted to outlines) so that I can create perspective. All I can find is the envelope tool which is wanky - there must be an easier way - FH lets you edit/delete and straighten the nodes in an envelope - so I can drag any node in any direction without warping the path. Surely theres got to be an easier way? Cant use the free distort tool from the effects menu as this doesn't allow me to do it in the workspace - alignment with another set of text is essential. Envelope Distort
1 - Creat a Line Of Text 2 - Create a shape that you want it to be. With the Pen tool/ Pecil too, whatever. Make sure it is above the line of text. 3 - Select both the Text and the Object you created. 4 - Go To "Object" > "Envelope Distort" > "Make with Top Object" (alt+ctrl+C) Notes: To Edit the Text you need to "Release" the envelope distort under the same menu you made it from. Good Luck! |
